Submitted by princebruce on Sun, 01/10/2010 - 10:46.

dear sir

I would like to report an event that occurred on boxing day 2009. The time locally was 4.15pm or there abouts. The event took place above my home.  (if you want the precise o/s  location and a diagram of the trajectory of the objects let me know and I will supply them ) The event was remarkable in that there was at least five individual lights in the sky.

it was around 5.15 pm christmas day that my father saw what he described as a bright orange ball in the sky. it had travelled from west to east and hovvered over his house for at  least 30 seconds before moving slowly eastwards and dissappearing into thin air. 4 other adults also witnessed this event at the same address

i have posted this once today but in a reply, where someone discribed the same sort of thing we saw this evening, about 5.15 pm my wife was sitting in the conservatory & shouted me to come & have a look at a orange ball going over & away from our house quite quickly.there was no engine noise & no flashing lights,it almost looked like it was on fire as i watched it veered one way then to anouther  then seemed to slow  but  disapeared in to night haze,i think i watched it for about a minute & a half ,...chris

My wife and I have just been to post a late Christmas card to a neighbour in the next street.  We both saw a phosphourous looking red/orange ball rising in the west and travelling at meteor like speed passing through the whole of the visible horizon disappearing in the East only 25 or so seconds later.  The intensity of the ball was constant but it did shift from red to amber and back.

Orange Ball of flame/light?

My husband and I were out having a smoke last night (21/12/2009) around 9.40pm when he pointed out an orange ball in the sky.  We thought it was a plane but realised there was no sound, no flashing red or white lights but just a solid glowing orange light.  I was worried as I thought maybe it was a plane on fire but there was no kind of tail or afterglow to say it was moving.  We should have seen that as there were clouds that went over it for a second.  It seemed to hover in the same place for about 10-15seconds before moving a just little bit and then disappearing alto
