Meteor Shower or UFO ?

Was having a cigerette while standing in my driveway at about 11:00 PM.  I looked up and observed shooting star (white in color  )streak across the star lit night sky from east to west.

The size was much bigger than back ground stars, as if it was a massive comet.  I figured that's what it was.   After all, the thing was going as fast as a comet.

Then it just dissappeared.

Further to my west, suddenly I saw it again!  My view was somewhat obstructed by a tree but this bright object dissappeared then reappeared, yet this time streaking a south trajectory.   It was a slight white yellow color.    Then for a third time it reappeared again now on a northewest trajectory.

All three times it streaked as fast as one would see a comet.

To the right of this activity I also observed two seperate green and white lights appear parrallel to each other to my west and make very short streaks westerly and disappear.   These were two aircraft approaching on a southwest heading. I could hear that they were jet aircraft.  The interesting part is that the jet's speed in comparison to the bright object I witnessed was like observing a small propeller plane moving across sky, nothing even close to to that speed. 

As clear a night as it was those two aircraft had a perfect view of what I witnessed. Eventually more jets came in on same basic heading as the others. The first 2 planes were approaching at same time these events happened and were in close proximity.  Were they following it?

I have been witness to a lot of meteor showers at night but never seen one of multiple trajectory.
