Hi Iceman2 don't know if you are uk located but the same night at approx 1015 i also saw this phenomana. A bright light like a spotlight but with no navigation lights or noise at all. It was very quiet that night in my location so would have been able to pick up any noise. Also in a stacking area for Gatwick Airport so have seen many types of aircraft fly over. We also get Army and police and civilian helocopters flying over as well. 

This did not match any other type I have seen before.

I read a comment about someonw who saw one that had orange and red flashes. I just wanted to let you know, hwiever wrote it, its also known as an airoplane!!!!! :)

about 4:30am today, i went out side to smoke, and there it was. it was brighter than any star i have ever seen. it was hovering above the trees, about 10 miles from me. i watched it hoover, then change shape. this lasted  about 10 min. then it zipped away. with a light trail behind.

Spotted at around 11.40pm, 3 seperate sightings all within 5minutes of each other. All flying along the same path, all silent and moving very fast. Seem to look like oval / diamond shapes with 4-6 little balls at a slight curve from the bottom, glowing very bright orange/red and flickering at times.

Being a believer,I had some experience with what seemed cigar type UFO up far off in the sky. A friend of mine and I were traveling in his car one evening before sundown and watch something way up in the sky. We discussed it for a while and made mention of the true or falseness of the subject but thought nothing more of it. I remembered that short sighting experience occasionally as I have traveled from that time on and often wonder. Until one day back in my island.
